Until March 12, 2021, inclusive, the entry restrictions to the Argentine Republic established by the Argentine National Government together with the National Directorate of Migration, considering the global epidemiological situation and coronavirus cases in the Argentine Republic, remain extended.
Among the extended and current measures are the following:
- Flights to and from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland remain suspended.
- The frequency of flights to the United States, Mexico, and Europe remains reduced by 30% and to Brazil by 50%. Therefore, it is recommended that those who have airline tickets to or from any of these destinations consult the corresponding airline before going to the airport.
- Entry to the country for foreign tourists coming from neighboring countries who are nationals or foreign residents of those countries remains suspended.
- Entry of foreign citizens is restricted to prior entry authorization by the National Directorate of Migration for family reunification, work, health, or humanitarian reasons, duly justified.
- Exiting and re-entering from and to the Argentine Republic implies acceptance by each citizen of the health and immigration conditions of the destination country and the Argentine Republic upon return, assuming the resulting health, legal, and economic consequences, such as the inability to start the trip with COVID-19 compatible symptoms, the need to have a COVID traveler health service abroad for medical coverage and/or isolation, and to report the places where they were during the 14 days prior to re-entry to the Argentine Republic, among others.
- Comply with the conditions imposed by the national health authority and submit to the control of the City of Buenos Aires, provincial authorities, and municipalities, in their respective jurisdictions and areas of competence.
- The only border crossings enabled for entry to the Argentine Republic of native Argentine citizens and/or foreign citizens residing in the country are the airports of Ezeiza and San Fernando, as well as the Buquebus terminal in Buenos Aires.
- The land border crossings remain closed, except for international trade and/or to allow entry of native Argentine citizens and/or foreign residents who left the country before December 25, 2020. Those who left after signing the consent of knowing the impossibility of returning through a land crossing must enter through the authorized airports or ports, with a negative PCR and comply with the 7-day quarantine.
- The border crossings of San Sebastián and Integración Austral, both located in Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and the South Atlantic Islands and Santa Cruz, respectively, remain exempt from the restriction measures in order to guarantee transit with Chile and the connection with the rest of the Argentine territory.
- For the purposes of entering the country, (i) complete the online entry affidavit of the National Directorate of Migration 48 hours before boarding; (ii) attach a negative PCR (sample taken 72 hours before boarding) and (iii) undergo a 7-day quarantine. Foreign citizens authorized to enter the country must also attach COVID medical insurance, and both the PCR and the insurance will be required to board.
- Those who have presented a positive COVID-19 test within 90 days prior to entering the country, confirmed by a laboratory, will not need to present a negative PCR test result for entry into the national territory. In such cases, they must provide the results of the diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 and add the medical discharge after more than ten days have passed since that diagnosis.
