Since September 20, 2021, the National Government of Argentina has decreed that Argentine citizens and foreign residents in the national territory who have traveled abroad for work or commercial reasons will be exempt from quarantine upon their return to the Argentine Republic, provided they meet the following requirements:
- They have completed the full vaccination schedule at least 21 days before entering the country. People vaccinated in the Argentine Republic must certify this in the sworn statement required by the National Directorate of Migration. Those vaccinated abroad must certify it with the supporting documentation attached to the aforementioned sworn statement.
- In addition to the negative PCR test from the country of origin conducted within 72 hours prior to boarding and the antigen test required upon entry into the country, they must undergo 2 PCR tests, one on the fifth day and another on the tenth day, counted from the date of the first test, with negative results. The cost of the tests must be borne by the person entering the country.
- Citizens entering the country must carry out their work and/or commercial activities while strictly observing preventive and care measures for 10 days, counted from the date of the negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to boarding.
- In the sworn statement required by the National Directorate of Migration, they must state the work and/or commercial reason for the trip, as well as the details of the employer, commercial counterpart, or representative of the work and/or commercial activity in question, attaching the relevant certification and/or supporting documentation. This documentation must be retained by the citizen entering the country for presentation upon request by the competent authority.
Likewise, foreign citizens who are not residents but whose entry to the Argentine Republic is expressly authorized by the National Directorate of Migration to carry out essential work or commercial activities for which they have been summoned, will also be exempt from quarantine as long as they meet the conditions and requirements mentioned above.
